120 families enrolled in our first insurance drive
Over three weekends, volunteers worked alongside kebele health offices to verify household eligibility and pay annual premiums directly to the scheme. Every family received a valid card, a printed explanation of what it covers, and a contact number for follow-up.
The most common barrier we met was not doubt about the value of insurance, but the timing of the premium: it falls due as a single payment in a year when most households simply do not have it. Paying it in full removed the obstacle immediately.
